 Sexual violence affects every demographic and every community. CDFNE strives to provide safe, non-judgmental, and confidential services for survivors of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Forensic examinations are conducted with the utmost respect for the survivor's identity, pronouns, and choices regarding who is present during the examination. These specialized services prioritize sensitivity, inclusivity, and cultural competency to ensure that survivors receive the care and support they deserve. 

Research has found LGBTQIA+ individuals experience sexual violations at similar or higher rates than individuals identifying as heterosexual (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015).

In addition to providing comprehensive trauma-informed medical services, we also partner with local and national organizations and community leaders in championing inclusivity, compassion, and justice for all survivors. We believe forensic medical services and advocacy for sexual assault victims in the LGBTQIA+ community is crucial to address sexual violence as a whole.
